So you’ve dipped your toe into the wild waters of dating and hit it off with someone. A first date has been arranged and now it’s time for the fun part. We’ve got some pieces of advice for you though so you get through successfully.

Safety first

Always  arrange to meet in a public place that is easily accessible for you to get to and get home from. Make sure that your friends or family know where you will be and remember to check in and give them a quick text to let them know all is well. It also helps if you make sure you’re phone is fully charged.

What to wear

Obviously you’ll want to dress to impress, so choose an outfit that you feel comfortable and confident in – if you feel good you’ll feel at ease and it will show. Also make sure your outfit is suitable for the nature of the date – high heels wouldn’t be the best choice if your off bowling! Not sure what to go for? We’ve put together a list of first date outfit ideas for you.

Where to go?

Make sure you have discussed this together so that it is something that suits you both. If you’re meeting for dinner ensure it’s a cuisine that you both like to avoid any awkwardness about dislikes to certain foods. – Always good to check allergies as well.

Have fun

Try to relax and enjoy yourself, dating should be fun and it’s a fab way to get to know someone. Try and remember things you’ve chatted about online and any similar likes or hobbies that you both share as these are great conversation starters and ice~breakers.

The most important thing though is to be yourself, be open and honest and see where the date takes you.
