The clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in quicker. Autumn is officially upon us. With the change in season, it is the perfect time to revamp our makeup. For most of us who are beauty obsessed, the arrival of the colder seasons means digging out our favourite berry lip products. But the comfort of a good nude is still very much needed. Autumn and winter are the perfect seasons to push our nudes into the more purple and brown tones.
Today I will be sharing my favourite autumn and winter lip colours from both the berry category and the nude category. A good lip colour is something that every girl wants so I will be covering a range of price tags so you can pick up the very best product for your budget.
Mac in Rebel – £16.50
Mac lipsticks are a must for any beauty guru. They are a reliable product that you know you can always turn to in times of need.
From the colour, all the way through to the lasting power, a Mac lipstick will never let you down. Rebel is the perfect shade for those of you who prefer a more purple shade of berry rather than red.
Chanel, Rogue Allure Ink in Expérimenté – £28
For those of you who like to indulge in your lip products, Chanel’s new Allure Ink range provides the perfect berry red for this season. Not only is the colour absolute perfection but also the formulation is divine.
The product starts off as a wet formula, making it easy to apply. However, it very quickly dries down to a very pigmented comfort matte. Most matte based liquid lipsticks dry down to be very uncomfortable, but with this product, you really do pay for the comfort. This is definitely a luxury product and you will not be disappointed.
Revlon Ultra HD in Passion – £8.99
I have always found that finding a berry red lipstick in the drugstore that matches the likes of your high-end favourite is always a difficult task. Revlon has managed to get it just right in their Ultra HD range.
Passion is the perfect berry red from the drug-store. Not only is it a true berry with outstanding pigmentation but the formulation also makes this product stand out. Just like Chanel, this product is a wet formula but dries as a matte, it is not going anywhere and it will not make a fool of you throughout the day.
Urban Decay Comfort matte in Backtalk – £15.50
When the Urban Decay bullets re-launched a few years back, the beauty community went crazy for them. If you need a go-to lipstick that won’t let you down, any one of the five formulas will work.
Backtalk in comfort matte, is the perfect autumn and winter nude. It is a little darker and a little more sophisticated but it is still perfectly wearable on a daily basis. Backtalk allows you to have the comfort of a nude whilst still giving that autumnal lift to your face.
The Body Shop, Colour crush in Hot Date – £10.00
The Body Shop has always been well known for their skincare products. However, over the past year, they really have succeeded in upping their makeup game.
Although Hot Date appears quite dark in the packaging, when you apply it to the lips, it just gives a subtle purple tint. Although this product is definitely pigmented, it just gives a nice sheer glaze to lips making it perfect for a daily basis.
Collection, Velvet kiss in Caramel – £2.99
For most of us, when we think of autumnal lipsticks, we immediately think of berries and purples. However, brown is also a great shade if you want something a little bolder but nothing that is going to really stand out.
Although Collection’s Velvet kiss range is extremely affordable, the products are not lacking in quality. This creamy matte lip product is extremely comfortable, pigmented and lasts all day.
Caramel is the perfect nude that leans towards brown rather than pink or purple. If you are after something that is a little more subtle but still nicely autumnal, then I would definitely pick this up, regardless of if you have a higher budget!
