A morning routine to set you up for the day

The Growing Up Guide

A morning routine is just essential to start off your day the right way. It is known that more successful people have morning routine to encourage productiveness throughout the day.

So, if you have a couple of things you wish to tick off your to-do list, follow this morning routine to boost your chances in having a great day.

Wake up as early as you can

A good night’s rest is so important to wake up early the next day and start off your day just right. I like to wake up at 9 am or 10 if I’m feeling lazy.

An early start makes so much more time during the day to get things done. Wake up at 1pm and most of the day is already gone! You know the saying; the early bird catches the worm? Well, this applies to everyone.

Make your bed

If you don’t already do this as soon as you get up, I suggest you start right away! Making your bed makes you not want to get back in. You’ll feel more tidier and put together as you go on about your day.

Choose your outfit for the day

Choosing a great outfit as soon as you wake up encourages you to finish the rest of your routine so you can wear it!

I lay my OOTD out on the bed and continue my routine. It’ll also get you excited to look good.

Start your makeup routine

Whether or not you wear makeup at all, you should always apply maybe even a bit of lip-gloss and mascara to look awake and put together. It’s not a must, but to appear like you made more of an effort, I like to put on some shiny lip-gloss, concealer, and mascara.

Shower and complete your skincare routine

Whether or not you shower in the morning or night, I highly recommend showering in the morning. This wakes you up and you feel less tired and more refreshed.

A skincare routine is crucial, whether or not you have effortlessly clear skin or not. I like to use a facial scrub and apply some face cream to my face.

Eat a healthy breakfast

Most people skip out on having breakfast, but it is such a vital part of your day. Breakfast fuels you for the day, and without it, you will not function as best as you can.

Your body has gone through a literal fast, so the food you have in the morning breaks the fast. Make sure to also make it healthier!

Write down things to do in your planner

If you have things to do that day, write them down in your planner. This motivates you to be able to tick them off. And if you can’t find anything to do that day, here is a checklist of things to do every day.

Drink some water

Everyone should make it a habit to drink at least 16 ounces of water in the morning. The benefits are huge.

This helps your body flush out toxins, gives you more hydration, sparks up your metabolism, gives your brain fuel, and may even make you eat less.
Hope this gives you the chance to start off your day the right way!

  1. I’m struggling with this right now. I get up at 8, but I feel like if I pushed that up even two hours to 6am, I’d get so much more done! I’m reading Hal Elrod’s Miracle Morning right now. Have you read that one? I’m considering giving that routine a whirl. But you’re right; the early bird definitely catches the worm.
